In 2003, Jules Wakeham & Carole Le Gresley met at The Blue Note.

They love playing music together, and share a passion for Jazz, 1960s Pop & Bossa Nova...& now they're celebrating 20 years of making music in Jersey!

Both full-time professional Musicians, Jules & Carole each have over 35 years of experience performing live music in Jersey and overseas. 

Jules - Tenor Saxophone

Jules is Jersey's finest and most accomplished jazz musician. Beginning his career in London in the 1990s, Jules became a highly regarded saxophonist on the London jazz scene. He performed at prestigious venues including Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, London's Savoy Hotel, The Royal Festival Hall, The 606 Club, Harvey Nichols (Knightsbridge), and headlined to standing ovations at the Cafe de Paris in Piccadilly.

Jules Wakeham - Jersey's finest saxophone player

A self-taught saxophonist, Jules has performed in New York, Los Angeles, Hawaii, Alaska, Holland, France, Belgium, Spain and Denmark. He toured the Alaskan seas while leading a Jazz Quartet on the Cunard cruise ship 'The Crown Dynasty' in the USA, and was invited to join the BB King Band in LA. In 2004, Jules appeared as a musician in the film 'Shoreditch', alongside Shane Ritchie & Joely Richardson.

Jules has performed with the 'who's who' of the British and International jazz scene, including: Alex Garnett, Willie Garnett, Tim Armacost, Mel Martin & Frank Griffith (saxophonists) - Leon Greening, Mike Gorman, Jim Watson, Richard Busiakiewicz, Kate Williams (pianists) - Carl Orr, Colin Oxley (guitarists) - Ron Mathewson, Matt Miles, Andy Cleyndert, Orlando le Fleming, Dave Chamberlain, Tim Dawes (double bassists) - Matt Skelton, Milo Fell, Bill Eyden, Matt Fishwick (drummers) - Enrico Tomasso (trumpeter).

Carole - Guitar

Carole studied classical guitar and piano as a child. She won numerous awards, including the Junior Music Cup at Jersey College for Girls, and as a competitor in the Jersey Eisteddfod. Her first professional residency was at The Stanneylands Hotel, Wilmslow, Cheshire, performing to the stars of Coronation Street and Manchester Football Club.

Carole Le Gresley - talented solo guitarist & half of the Bossa Basseline Duo

Carole has performed at many high profile events, including the Official Launch of the Ford Galaxy and the BBC Antiques Roadshow Crew Dinner, the visit of composer Tony Hatch & The Jersey Boat Show. She has also taught guitar for the Jersey Arts Centre & Highlands College in Jersey. 

In 2016, Carole was contacted by the production team at Sky Art TV's 'Guitar Star' show. Carole was asked to audition for the show. As filming ran from March to July, it clashed with her much-valued gig commitments, so Carole couldn't take part but was thrilled to be asked!

Since 2003, Jules and Carole have played thousands of gigs together in Jersey, including long-term residencies at St Brelade's Bay Hotel, The Grand Hotel and The L'Horizon Hotel. Their Bossa Basseline Duo is always in demand.

Mick - Jazz Guitar

Mick joins us in our Trio & Quartet line-ups. Jersey's finest jazz guitarist, Mick has a long and distinguished career as a live performer in the island and overseas. He has performed alongside many visiting UK stars, including Cilla Black, Ronnie Corbet and Cannon & Ball as part of the Fort Regent House Band. Mick was also a member of the Jack Duff Jazz Band.

Kenny - Percussion & Kit Drums

Kenny has a wealth of experience, performing in Jersey and overseas on international tours. An outstanding latin-jazz percussionist, Kenny also performs on kit drums for Bossa Basseline's Trio and Quartet. He performed for many years with the Rod Plummer Trio in Jersey and on cruise ships.
